Beyond Hercules final cover design

Beyond Hercules is a hard science-fiction story by Paul A. Bussard. Earlier this year, I had the pleasure and opportunity to work with Paul, in creating and realizing his vision as a bookcover illustration for Montag Press. Paul is a unique individual, a former aerospace systems analyst, equal parts romanticist and pragmatist. He wrote this alluring concept about a sentient weapon, that thinks it's sings, while actually silencing beings, that display the ability to use antigravity technology. Available now on Amazon.com as a novel and e-book. When developing the look of the ancient weapon for the cover, Paul made it very apparent that the technology used was not to be overly complex, but usable and applicable to todays science and sensibilities. So together we agreed that this approach was the best amalgam of his direction and my skill. It was fun designing and it felt right upon completion.
